Slovenia - Aug 2008

Slovenia is a little picture perfect country. It look like something out of a fairy tale book. Almost surreal looking.

Per and I fly to Ljubljana, the capital city, and drove to the coast, to a city call Piran.. then north along the Italian border to Kobarid, to see some remants from the WWI. Next stop was Bled, with took us across Triglav national park via Vrisic Pass (1611 m).. It took a lot of bends and turns to get to the other side of this park.

We met up with our kayak guide in Bled and was off white water kayaking on Socä river. Our first! We spent as much time in the water then on it! The poor guide had to rescue us in every river bend! It was absolutely fun..

We loved Slovenia! Great country, with friendly english speaking people, where things actually work. Food was fantastic.. ala italy but at the fraction of the price. Highly recommended!
