Andulicia Province, Spain

Southern Spain 2007

Olla everyone! This was my first trip to Spain.. We started in Malaga, then drove to Ronda.. which was approximately 2 hours north east of Malaga. We stayed in a hotel which seem to hug the cliff.. it was overlooking a splendid olive plantation. It is normally dry in these areas but in August it's even worst. Per and I went for a hike up a hill and we ended up having to use a wet tea towel on our head.. and that was only 10 A.M... Unfortunately due to the dry weather, all the trails were closed. Which was probably reasonable since at that same period, half of Greece's woodland was on fire!

Spainien are quite friendly but many can't speak english... so our only exchange was Olla (quite normal to say this to everyone you met!!).. which was fine since that's about the only spanish word I know.... After awhile with the help of the lonely planet guidebook, we were able to include coffee and bread within our vocab.. That became our stappel diet in Spain!!!

In anycase, Ronda claimed to be the birthplace of the bullfights but refused to see that! We did try many of the smoke beef instead! Hahaha.. All building seem to be built next to cliffs. It's simply amazing.

Next, we drove south to Gibralta. Gibralta is actually a British colony. The people in gibralta voted to stay with the UK, which p'ssed Franko off... Until recently there were strict border petrol between Spain & Gibralta. The crossing is just like the JB and Singapore crossing (for those who knows it).. Now the border is open and business is booming.. We then drove to Torrox and stayed at our friends summer house. The house is located in one of the many 'white villages'... the style of houses there has a heavy morrocan influence. We also tried the beach.. water was fantastic.. warm and clear. The next highligt was Alhambra.. Amazing place. I'll let the pictures tell the story!
